Ultra Labs LLC
Terms of Service
These terms are between you and Ultra Labs LLC (“Ultra Labs,” “we”), Washington, USA. They cover SpikeCamp, the offline-first wildland fire app at spikecamp.app and spikecamp.vercel.app.
SpikeCamp is informational. It is not an official emergency service. The Safety Disclaimer is part of these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Contact: ops@spikecamp.app.
1. The service
SpikeCamp shows public wildfire information, lets you watch places, and includes crew tools (pins, quals, time, family link, shop, jobs). Maps, evacuation zones, shelters, and safety alerts work without an account. Some tools need a sign-in and a paid plan.
We can change, suspend, or remove features. Public safety layers are meant to stay available on the free plan, but feeds go down, and we do not promise uninterrupted service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use SpikeCamp only with a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms.
An account uses Supabase Auth: Google or an email magic link. You are responsible for the email account you use and for signing out of shared devices. We may refuse, suspend, or close an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is harming someone.
Sample data and “sign-in not configured” builds are for development. Do not rely on them in the field.
3. Subscriptions
Paid plans include the features shown as available on the plan page at the time of purchase. Items labeled coming soon are roadmap only and are not part of your subscription until they ship and are marked live.
Prices in the product today:
- Free. $0.
- Pro. $24.99 per year.
- Crew. $99 per seat per year. Seat count is what you set at checkout, from 1 to the cap the checkout allows.
- Agency. A plan flag in the product for archive and crew features. It is not on the public checkout buttons. Price: .
Live on the plan page now: the national map, a page for each fire, evacuation zones and shelters, sharing a fire page, and one watched place on Free (a county counts as one place). Pro adds ten watched places, wind and weather layers, pins with photos or video, one family link, live tactical field maps, and GPS on the tactical map (live position and follow). Pro and Crew also include an on-device heart-rate strap, where the browser supports Bluetooth, and a manual vitals log. Those readings stay on the phone. Crew adds land ownership colors on the incident map.
Not part of a subscription until they ship and the plan page marks them live: aircraft alerts and history, extra offline map areas, Meshtastic, scanner, fuel layers, fire spread, crew exports, and watch health sources (Apple Health, Health Connect, Fitbit, and Garmin).
By subscribing you agree to these Terms. Pro and Crew renew automatically each year until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the Stripe customer portal (Manage billing in Settings). Cancellation stops the next renewal. It does not, by itself, refund the current period. Access to paid features follows the subscription status Stripe reports. If a payment fails, paid features stay off until Stripe collects it. The statement descriptor is SPIKECAMP.
Taxes: .
Refunds: the refund terms the law requires. Where the law requires a refund, that law controls this placeholder.
Job posts, when sold, are separate one-time fees: Standard $79 for 30 days, Featured $149 for 30 days, and a 10-pack at $399. The Crew plan in the product includes a discount and included posts. Those fees are not the annual subscription. Refunds for posts: .
Shop items marked “sold by us” are sold by Ultra Labs and paid through Stripe. Partner links are sales by that partner, under the partner’s terms. Prices marked “not listed yet” are not for sale.
4. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Use SpikeCamp as, or present it as, an official evacuation order, 911 service, incident command system, air-traffic or deconfliction system, or TAK (Team Awareness Kit) system.
- Delay evacuation or medical care because of something the app showed or failed to show.
- Post a pin, check-in, or other content that you know is false and that could send people toward a hazard or away from an order.
- Upload unlawful content, or content you do not have rights to upload.
- Probe, scrape, or overload the service or an upstream feed beyond ordinary use of the app. Public data has its own rate limits. Do not bypass them.
- Attempt to read another person’s pins, family link, bug screenshot, or account.
- Interfere with the service or with an emergency response.
- Use the app if you are under 13.
We may remove content or suspend access when we reasonably believe a rule was broken. Crew pins stay labeled unofficial. They are not orders.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you submit: pin notes, photos, video, family check-ins, bug reports, quals and time entries, and community posts.
You grant Ultra Labs a non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, and display that content only as the product needs in order to provide the feature, for the audience you selected (for example, your crew or incident, or the people who hold a family link). Pin media is not licensed for a public feed or for resale. We may remove content that breaks these terms or that a crew lead hides.
Photos are re-encoded on the device, which strips EXIF. Do not assume a photo still carries a location after upload. Do not assume it is private from your crew: crew and incident members who can open the pin can request the file.
This license ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except for copies made in a backup or a legal hold, and except for bug reports that remain after an account is deleted with the user id cleared (see the Privacy Policy).
Feedback you send us (a bug report, an idea) may be used to operate and improve SpikeCamp without any obligation to you other than the Privacy Policy.
6. Third-party data
Much of the map is someone else’s data. We display it with attribution. We do not claim it is ours, and we do not present a modified feed as an official government product. Upstream terms can change. A source can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. See the Safety Disclaimer.
Attributions and limits we currently rely on:
- NIFC WFIGS incidents and perimeters are interagency data distributed through NIFC open data. NIFC states that the data and graphics are not legal documents. Credit NIFC / WFIGS. Do not treat a perimeter as a survey or as an evacuation order.
- NASA FIRMS hotspots. Credit NASA FIRMS. Do not imply NASA endorsement.
- EPA AirNow. Readings are preliminary and not fully verified. Credit the reporting air agencies and the EPA AirNow program.
- NWS / NOAA. Public-domain weather and alerts. Do not imply NWS endorsement, and do not present edited alert text as official NWS text.
- FAA temporary flight restrictions. Situational awareness only. Not a briefing and not a clearance.
- adsb.lol aircraft. Crowdsourced ADS-B. When the layer is on, the map says it is not for deconfliction and credits “© adsb.lol contributors, ODbL.” The Open Database License requires attribution and share-alike on a derived database. Do not use the layer for aircraft separation.
- OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap. Basemap tiles and place search (Nominatim). OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the ODbL. Share-alike applies to a derived database, not to every screenshot.
- USAJOBS. Listings belong to the posting agency. Apply on the official site. USAJOBS terms were not fully readable when we last checked them.
- WA DNR job postings. Link back to the official posting. Reuse beyond the app is not confirmed.
- WildCAD / WildWeb. In-app credit is “Source: via WildCAD.” This is not public-domain data. Do not resell it.
- Evacuation zones. CAL FIRE’s public statewide view, Oregon OEM’s public layer, and Okanogan County GIS, with attribution and a link to the official record. These polygons are not a substitute for the county’s order. Genasys / Zonehaven is not fetched. Resale of zone polygons is not granted.
- Shelters. FEMA NSS open shelters. Credit FEMA, ESF-6. Red Cross content is not used.
- FCC county lookup is a geocoding aid, not a legal description of a jurisdiction.
7. Shop and Amazon Associates
The Shop may include affiliate and partner links. If you buy through an Amazon link we operate, Ultra Labs LLC is an Amazon Associate and earns from qualifying purchases. That does not change the price you pay. Partner programs other than Amazon, if a product uses one, are disclosed on the Shop screen. NFPA marks on a product reflect the manufacturer’s stated certification. SpikeCamp is not endorsed by NWCG, the USDA Forest Service, or WA DNR.
8. Safety
Read the Safety Disclaimer at /safety before you rely on a map, an alert, a pin, or an aircraft icon. Alerts are automated. They are not reviewed by a dispatcher. If you are in danger, follow official evacuation orders, call 911, and follow incident command and the responsible agency. Do not wait for SpikeCamp.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The warranty disclaimer, the liability cap, and the indemnity in the Safety Disclaimer apply to these terms. To the extent those sections and this section ever differ, the Safety Disclaimer controls on safety questions, and this section controls on fees and accounts.
10. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold harmless Ultra Labs and its members, employees, and contractors from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising out of your content, your misuse of the service, or a claim that you presented SpikeCamp as an official warning or dispatch system. This indemnity does not require you to cover a claim that a court finally decides was caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct. It does not apply where the law does not allow this kind of indemnity.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to the optional arbitration section below, the state and federal courts located in Washington, Washington, are the venue. You consent to personal jurisdiction there. If a non-waivable consumer law in your state requires a different venue, that law controls for that claim.
12. Optional arbitration (not in effect)
Disputes go to court under the governing-law section.
13. Ending use
You may stop using SpikeCamp at any time and cancel a subscription in Manage billing. We may stop providing the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (content license for material still stored, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, governing law) survive.
14. Changes
We will post updated terms at /terms. If we need a new acceptance, the in-app version changes and the app asks again on the next use. The draft version string is 2026-10-17-draft-1. Continued use after the effective date of a posted change is acceptance of that change where the law allows that form of acceptance. The effective date of this draft is the date this page was last published.
15. Other
These terms are the whole agreement about SpikeCamp, together with the Privacy Policy and the Safety Disclaimer. If a court holds a section unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. We may assign these terms with a sale of the product. You may not assign them. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. The headings are for convenience.
